Ante- and postnatal physiotherapy

Pregnancy is one of the most important periods in the life of a woman where the body goes through many physical changes. It is known that majority of the women will experience one or more neuro-musculoskeletal conditions during and after pregnancy. However, it is important to know that most of those conditions can be prevented and treated through physiotherapy.

Your physiotherapist can help you during your ante-and postnatal period by:

*advising on safe exercises

*identifying, assessing and treating musculoskeletal problems (back and pelvic pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, tummy separation-rectus diastasis, sciatica to name a few)

*advising on correct daily postures

*advising how you can manage your pain

What to expect on your first visit

You will go through a thorough assessment which will allow your physiotherapist to explore a variety of suitable treatments, exercise and rehabilitation plans for you. The evaluation includes your medical history, movement analysis, assessment of your posture, muscles and nerves. Please remember to bring your maternity notes and any other relevant medical notes with you to the clinic.
